An Invention Born From Personal Experience

The Story Behind INFRAMEDIC

INFRAMEDIC did not begin with a market study or a conventional product idea.

It began with a personal question:

Why should infrared heat remain static when every person responds to heat differently?

For founder and inventor Gerd Mattheiss, this question became the starting point for a new generation of intelligent infrared technology.

THE PERSONAL BEGINNING

A Challenge I Knew Personally

Gerd Mattheiss was born with a structural condition affecting his back. Throughout his life, this made physical comfort and relaxation especially important.

Infrared heat became part of his personal wellness routine. The experience of targeted heat was valuable, but the available systems repeatedly showed the same limitations.

They operated with fixed output. They did not recognize how close the user was to the emitter. They could not respond to changing temperatures at the user’s back. When the heat became uncomfortable, the user had to adjust the system manually, move away or interrupt the application.

For Gerd, this was not only a product limitation. It was a problem he experienced himself.

THE INVENTOR’S QUESTION

What If the Heat Could Understand the User?

Instead of accepting the limitations of conventional infrared systems, Gerd began to rethink the entire application.

The decisive idea was simple:

The user should not have to continuously adapt to the infrared system. The system should automatically adapt to the user.

This required more than a different emitter. It required sensors, intelligent control logic and an entirely new interaction between the user and the heat source.

That idea became the foundation of SAFETY-SENSE.

FROM IDEA TO TECHNOLOGY

From Personal Insight to Patented Technology

Gerd combined his long-standing experience in the infrared sector with approximately 20 years of operational and process consulting.

He approached the problem as both a user and a systems developer:

  • What should the sensors monitor?
  • How should the system respond to changing temperatures?
  • What happens when the user moves away?
  • How can the operation remain intuitive?
  • How can the technology be integrated into different products?
  • How can heat, climate and user position work together as one system?

The result was a sensor-controlled regulation platform that monitors the application area contactlessly and automatically adjusts infrared output in real time.

The core technological concepts were subsequently protected through patents and additional patent applications in Europe, the United States and other selected markets.

SAFETY-SENSE

The Birth of SAFETY-SENSE

SAFETY-SENSE uses two contactless sensors to monitor the defined application area at the user’s back.

The system processes up to 120 measurements per minute. ONE-CONTROL evaluates the measured conditions and regulates the infrared output according to the defined operating logic.

If the user moves away, the system can switch to standby. When the user returns to the intended position, the controlled application can continue automatically.

The operating concept was intentionally designed to remain simple:

Sit down. Lean back. Press one button.

The technology works in the background.

ONE BUTTON

Complex Technology. Intuitive Operation.

A central principle of the invention was that advanced technology should not create complicated operation.

The illuminated start button clearly communicates the system status:

  • Blue flashing: System ready
  • Green: Application active
  • Green flashing: Automatic standby
  • Light off: Application completed or system switched off

The user does not need to continuously adjust the infrared intensity. Sensors and ONE-CONTROL manage the defined operating process automatically.

MORE THAN A PRODUCT

From One Invention to an Entire Platform

What began as a solution to a personal problem developed into a modular technology platform.

Today, INFRAMEDIC brings together:

  • SAFETY-SENSE sensor technology
  • CORE-RADIANT heat systems
  • CORE-FLEX 24 flexible heating modules
  • ONE-CONTROL system management
  • Intelligent operating and standby logic
  • Complete VARIA infrared cabins
  • The ONE-PREMIUM infrared wellness chair
  • OEM and retrofit integration solutions
  • The HBO-IR professional wellness concept

This allows the same core technology to be used across cabins, chairs, wellness furniture, professional environments and selected OEM products.

FOUNDER PORTRAIT

Founder and Inventor

Gerd Mattheiss is a Swiss-based entrepreneur and inventor with more than 15 years of experience in the infrared sector and approximately 20 years of previous experience in operations and process consulting.

His work is driven by a combination of personal experience, technical curiosity and a practical understanding of how products must function in everyday use.

Rather than developing another conventional infrared product, his objective was to create an intelligent platform that could continuously respond to the actual application situation.

Today, he leads the continued development of INFRAMEDIC technology, its international patent portfolio and the expansion of the platform into Europe and the United States.

FOUNDER QUOTE

“I did not set out to build another infrared company. I wanted to solve a problem I experienced myself. Heat should not remain static while the user and the application conditions constantly change. That insight became the foundation of INFRAMEDIC.”

Gerd Mattheiss
Founder and Inventor of INFRAMEDIC

THE PHILOSOPHY

Heat That Responds

The INFRAMEDIC philosophy is based on three principles.

1. The User Comes First

Technology should respond to the user and support an intuitive wellness experience.

2. Intelligence Should Simplify

Sensors, electronics and software should reduce the need for manual intervention rather than create additional complexity.

3. Innovation Must Be Scalable

A meaningful invention should not be limited to a single product. It should provide a platform that manufacturers, partners and operators can integrate into different applications.

THE US CHAPTER

Bringing Swiss Infrared Innovation to the United States

INFRAMEDIC Corporation was established in Las Vegas to develop the United States market and build relationships with qualified distribution, manufacturing and technology partners.

The initial US launch of the ONE-PREMIUM infrared wellness chair with reclining function is currently planned for October 2026.

At the same time, INFRAMEDIC is preparing market-specific configurations and exploring OEM applications for hotels, spas, wellness operators, manufacturers and professional environments.

The objective is not simply to introduce another infrared product to the United States.

It is to establish a new standard for intelligent, sensor-controlled infrared wellness technology.

Explore the Technology

The Next Chapter Is Just Beginning

INFRAMEDIC began with one person questioning why infrared technology could not respond more intelligently.

Today, that question has developed into a patented platform, a growing product portfolio and an international vision.

We welcome conversations with customers, manufacturers, distributors and technology partners who share our belief that the future of infrared is intelligent, controlled and user-focused.
